Fall Hawk

This first year red-shouldered hawk has stayed a couple of weeks hunting in the same area, probably as a break on its way south before its first migration.

It is a great feeling when you come to know personnaly a wild bird. And one day, it leaves and you'll never see it again.

An average on birds of prey in the world states that arround 70 % of young birds which succeded taking off of their nest will die on their first year. And the first cause is probably the lack of experience when hunting.
