Osprey Apprentice

This first year osprey gave me unforgetable memories. It spent a bit more than 3 weeks in the same area. So, I observed it a lot and discovered very precisely where it fished, it was always the same spots.

I came many times in a few different hides of my own during this month of september because I had the first plan to get this osprey crashing in the water.

I didn't succed exactly what I wanted, but taking pictures of wildlife means sometimes to be opportunistic. And I saw many times when the fishing was successful, it was going to perch on that dead tree.

That picture has been a great lesson for me : it's excessively hard to hide from a bird of prey when very close. They have their senses so developped that they always kind of catch you... This case, it was the noise of my camera which bothered it for a short while. Hopefully, I didn't truly disturbed because it remained here to eat its fish.

Also, birds are different from humans : they have no borders, because they have a pair of wings...

For me, that was an industrial plan with a beautiful fence and many "Private property" boards on it. So, to take this photo, I had to hide from humans first !
